An Article of Blood Type and Personality on BBC's website

Why don't you read the following BBC's article.

Japan and blood types: Does it determine personality?
By Ruth Evans

URL is here.

To my surprise, an interview of Professor Maekawa, a friend of mine, is in the article.
This is useful, because it explains that blood type and personality is a kind of "taboo" in English language world.

For example:
Theorists of eugenics later hijacked his [Karl Landsteiner] research ... with the Nazis using his work to further their ideas of racial supremacy.
It [blood type and personality] was also adopted by Japan's militarist government in the 1930s to train better soldiers, and during World War II, the Imperial Army is reported to have formed battle groups according to blood type.
But one thing is definitely different from the others.
The article quoted Professor Maekawa's words like this:
A type societies tend to be characterized by monotheism such as Christianity and Judaism, with one fundamental analysis of human beings and a strong sense of societal norms. But societies dominated by B types are more prone to polytheism - like Buddhism and Hinduism - with lots of gods, and they think people are all different.
Fantastic!!
I wonder why this writer doesn't approve the relation between blood type and personality?
I mailed to Mr. Maekawa about this issue and will get the answer from him before long.

JFK is Type O!

JFK is said to be Type AB... and I believed this, until now.
But this is not true.
He is Type O!

Please check the image of the following address carefully.
http://www.jfklibrary.org/Asset-Viewer/2-KAteAx0uxXqQwcHWCfg.aspx

Line 6 -- "USNR" is the United States Naval Reserve; the "O" stands for blood type -- there was no positive (+) or negative (-) used in the World War II era.

The following is the letter of my website's reader.

-----

J・F・ケネディ大統領の血液型ですが、今までAB型と言われていましたが、O型と判明しました。

JFK's Navy dogtags stated that his blood type was type O.

Dr. Fumiichiro Yamamoto says about ABO Polymorphism & Personality

Dr. Fumiichiro Yamamoto who determined the arrangement of ABO blood-group genes says about ABO & personality.

Appendix 34 ABO & Personality
https://sites.google.com/site/abobloodgroup/appendix-34-abo-personality-1
ABO Polymorphism & Personality
The idea that the ABO blood type is partially involved in the determination of personality is still quite common. This belief is especially popular in Japan and Taiwan. A series of books written by Masahiko Nomi seem to have contributed, to some degree, to the popularity of this theory. The books depicted numerous anecdotal examples, but the statistical analyses were based on subjective data rather than objective one.
Because of this lack of objectivity, I do not think that any association between ABO polymorphism and personality has been really demonstrated. All the claims currently made on this regard seem to be groundless. Or at least they do not seem to withstand scientific evaluation...
BUT he is not negative about the idea of ABO relation with personality.
The following is his conclusion:
ABO gene is one of 25,000-plus genes contained in the human genome. But because of the abundance and wide distribution of ABH antigens, I will not be so surprised if in the future, the currently fashionable genome-wide association studies (GWAS) find an association between certain definable personality traits and ABO SNPs.
And...
ABH antigens are expressed in the primary sensory neurons of the posterior root ganglia in the nervous system.
Very interesting. (^^)

The ABO Center of Japan is preparing for the Syposium

The ABO Center of Japan is preparing to hold the Second (international!?) Symposium in Tokyo this winter.
I hope it removes many misunderstandings of blood type and personality.

Speakers of the First Symposium:
Dr. Koichiro Fujita, Doctor of Medicine, Tokyo Medical and Dental University.
Dr. Tadao Saito, Doctor of Agriculture, Tohoku University.
Dr. Takahiro Haida, Doctor of Medicine, Tokai University.

Japanese Psychologists Changed Their Thoughts by 2009

After the Japanese blood-type boom of 2004, the established blood-typical theory of psychology has become "there are statistical differences."
The conventional "established theory" -- "no statistical difference" was completely overturned!!
As a result, the theory became to accord for my results that "there are statistical differences."
By self estimation, at least ...
I am very happy!! Banzai!!
I wonder why the situation changed so suddenly and easily?

For example:

1. Kudo Eriko (Tokyo Woman's Christian University), Influence over self personality evaluation by blood-typical stereotypes, 73rd convention of the Japanese Psychology Association (2008).
Generally, it is recognized that self-evaluation of the subjects was equal to their blood-typical stereotypes.
2. Yamaoka Shigeyuki (Shotoku University), Influence over self recognition of the blood-typical personality items by watching TV programs, 47th Convention of Japanese Society of Social Psychology (2006).
The main effect of blood types was recognized in 11 items in the high reception group, and the main effect of the blood types was recognized in 2 items in the low reception group.
3. Kubota Kenichi (Nagoya City University), Implicit blood-typical beliefs and self information processing, 48th Convention of Japanese Society of Social Psychology (2007).
The main effect (F(1,32)=9.80, p.01) of personality items and the interaction (F(3,32)=3.22, p.05) of blood-typical-personality items by participants was significant ... After performing two similar factor analyses of variance about the result of definition exercises, the interaction of blood-typical-personality items by participants was significant.

Here is a Korean one:

4. Beom Jun Kim, Dong Myeong Lee, Sung Hun Lee and Wan-Suk Gim (2007), Blood-type distribution; Physica A: Statistical and Theoretical Physics Volume 373, 1 January 2007, Pp. 533-540
A psychological implication for the case of B-type males is also suggested as an effect of a distorted implicit personality theory affected by recent popularity of characterizing a human personality by blood types.

Lee Myung-bak, the President of South Korea is Type B.
Ask me why I know his blood type.
I found it on his official website!
But I cannot find it on the English version.

We can find blood type of Ma Ying-jeou  (type O) , the President of Taiwan.
Both Chinese and English version is available.

It is regrettable that I cannot find it on the Japanese PM's office's website.
I feel like I have seen it before...

Additional Information:
Barack Obama, the US President is type AB.
Queen Elizabeth and Princess Charles is type O.
Japanese Emperor and Empress is type A.
